About Our
District
The Keller School District covers 51 square miles in northern
Tarrant County, including most of the city of
Keller and much of the northern portion of
Fort Worth. It also serves small parts of
Colleyville,
Haltom City,
Hurst,
North Richland Hills,
Southlake,
Watauga and
Westlake. This is a fast-growing area, with
about 2,800 new homes being built in the district every year, and enrollment is
rising more than 2,000 students annually. To keep up, the district has built 10
new schools since 2002, with two more planned. The district covers 51 square
miles in northern
Tarrant County, including most of the city of
Keller and much of the northern portion of
Fort Worth.
New residential
development is expanding the city in all directions. The 1980 Census calculated
Keller's population at 4,555; today, over 35,000 residents call Keller home. The
city planned for its growth and has recently constructed a new town hall,
municipal service center, recreation and aquatic center, and has expanded the
police and municipal court facility. Keller Independent School District has 32
campuses serving more than 28,000 students. Keller
ISD students advance through a four-tier system: Elementary (grades K-4),
Intermediate (grades 5-6), Middle (grades 7-8) and High School (grade 9-12).
Enrollment in the school district has doubled during the
past ten years and is expected to do the same during the next decade, making it
the ninth-fastest growing school district in Texas.
